About the Photographer

Hi there. I’m so happy we found each other. I’m Sydney Holmes, a proud Atlanta native and resident, and hopefully someone you decide to trust to tell the story of you. I love pictures, but what I love even more is the stories I get to tell and the people I create them with. Stories that feel human, honest, and dignified, that are grounded by an empathetic portrait experience. Everyone deserves to have a portrait of them that makes them say, “Yeah, that’s me.”

As a young girl, I learned that value of the photograph lies in its ability to be a record of our most cherished moments, and our most authentic selves. I carry this knowledge forward, and hope that each and every one of my clients comes away from their session with the very same idea. Images can remind us of the most beautiful facts of our existence – our humanity, our softness, our uniqueness, our legacy. In this regard, the picture-making process should be a comfortable space to come together with your photographer to make something that’s entirely yours. I have a sacred responsibility to everyone I work with to act as a trusted visual interpreter. Together, we build something that makes you really see yourself, something that connects you back to your soul, and allows you to exist in all of your multitudes. This is the foundation of my practice. I believe wholeheartedly in the potency of the portrait as a conduit for connection and empowerment, it’s the fruit born of a meaningful and intimate creative experience that just leaves you feeling, well, more like you.

I graduated with distinction from Yale University as an award-winning artist and photographer. I’ve been a creative director, collaborator, and photographer for countless clients and organizations. With diverse experience in lifestyle, fashion, personal branding, and conceptual portraiture, I obsess over color and light and form, I’m deeply inspired by fresh and experimental ideas, and I bring high energy and passion to my work. It would be my pleasure to make beautiful pictures with you.

Let me help you tell your story.
